Tactical Protection is a London-based
company run by instructor Sharif Haque that specialises in training all types
of people in methods of self protection and personal security.
In these highly aggressive and
confrontational times, people are feeling increasingly insecure even in the
areas in which they live and work. We all have the right to have peace of mind,
and for this reason Tactical Protection provides training in how to avoid
trouble, dispel a possible attack and survive a violent assault.
The
Tactical Protection approach to personal security training:
Reality
based
Our combative
techniques are not sourced from any ancient martial tradition and certainly
could not be described as an ‘art form’. Likewise the tactical communication
and threat awareness skills are not based on any form of warrior stoicism.
Instead, our approach is solutions-based; meaning that we first identify the
possible threats that you are likely to face, and then engineer the most
efficient and effective countermeasures for those threats.
Concepts
focused
While
there is technical knowledge and skill to be acquired, the training modules are
primarily concepts driven and formulaic in nature. This means that we favour broad
and generic concepts that can be applied to all types of people over a wide
spectrum of situations.
Pressure
tested
All
techniques, tactics and strategies have been pressure tested in live combat
scenarios in ‘the field’ and realistic simulations (under strict conditions) in
the training hall. Thanks to the world’s militaries, intelligence agencies,
police units, and security operators who have been on the sharp end of violence
throughout history, it is relatively easy to find what methods have
consistently worked in self-protection. Further, the methods of the violent criminals
themselves are also closely examined so that we may learn what tactics
consistently work for them in the use of force.
Result-seeking
Training
is not designed to inflate the ego or make the student (or instructor!) feel ‘good’.
The aim is to increase your survivability; to get the student to a point where
their mind and body are better prepared for the possibility of violence. It’s
from this that true self confidence arises.
Contrary
to many martial systems that hand out belts and certificates in abundance, we
know that achieving a level of true combat-readiness is no easy thing and is a
job not to be taken lightly. Consider why even basic military training is so
intense. It’s for this reason, that all Tactical Protection material is kept
basic and as easy-to-learn as possible.
"Ultimately, my intention is to show people how to defeat the enemies they have within themselves. I started training to become tougher and stronger on the physical level, but through various experiences I discovered that the most serious type of fight is an internal one. In training, we confront these enemies in the controlled environment of the dojo, so that when they come to challenge us in the real world, we have already developed the skills and attributes to handle them"
